Styles and fashion seem to change on a daily basis but the one thing that never goes out of style is a beautiful designer wristwatch. Case in point this lovely Bulova Accutron Astronaut in excellent condition. M8 on the case back is the Bulova date code for 1968 as the year of manufacture. Before Apple and Android computers and GPS came into our lives navigation whether on land, at sea or in the air was an art form with travelers relying on conventional forms of navigation.

Many of today pilots, who were at some point in their careers, military pilots use 24 hour time. This model Accutron Astronaut was used by many of these guy's and many of them still wear the Bulova Accutron Astronaut as their "preferred timepiece" because its a cool looking watch, it is very easy to read and also very reliable. This one has been completely disassembled, serviced by an Accutron expert and is ready for another 50+ years of service.

It has been oiled with the correct lubricants then phased and timed to meet the original Bulova specs and it is in excellent working condition and keeping time. The bezel is in good condition and it moves freely either way. The original black dial is in very nice condition. There are four hands to this watch. The hour, minute, seconds hand and a 24-hour hand which works in conjunction with the rotatable 24-hour bezel. The case and bezel have been ultrasonically cleaned and then polished. The watch has a stainless steel bracelet/watchband with the Accutron tuning fork logo on the clasp in good condition.

There is a small dent on the clasp. It will fit up to a large wrist. Signed on the inner clasp Bulova.

The watch will come with an Accutron watch box along with a copy of a Bulova sales booklet and a copy of the instructions for the Accutron Astronaut. Also a copy of a letter from Bulova in 1960 which was sent out to all the new Accutron dealers. For battery changing there is an Accutron 214 wrench/coin to open the battery hatch and an extra battery. If you want a very nice just serviced Accutron Astronaut then this is the one you will want. Take care of this 52year-old beauty and it will run for another 52 years. Keep your watch in the Accutron box when not in use and you will be able to hand it down to your next generation.
