Here is a beautiful IWC Electronic from the early 1970s. The tuning fork movement, developed by Bulova and used in the famous Accutron, represented the peak of innovation, quality and accuracy in electric watches during the 1960s and 1970s before the quartz became the norm. Many famous brands used the ultimate version produced by ESA, the 9162, during the early 1970s including IWC. The one offered here is in excellent original condition.
It has a unpolished lightly brushed C-shaped stainless steel case. The dial, a deep blue sunburst, is in excellent condition. It has applied silver and white indexes and original lume, matching the hands. The crown is original and signed. The movement, caliber ESA 9162 / IWC C150 has been serviced in February 2019 by an expert in electric watches. The clutch wheel is new.
Only the hacking function (to stop the second hand when the crown is pulled out) doesn't work. This doesn't create any issue for the good working of the watch and is fixable. It comes with a vintage ZRC (made in France) stretch bracelet. Very comfortable and precisely adjustable. The case measures 36mm without crown, 43mm lug to lug, 12mm thick with a 18mm lug width. The water resistance is not tested.
